The distance between Calgary, Alberta and the capital city of Rwanda (Kigali) is approximately 13,600 km. This summer, we are walking the distance from the Foothills to the Land of a Thousand Hills in order to continue our international development and outreach partnership that Westview Baptist Church began in 2018.

Your participation will be used to assist with travel costs for our teams, who will be participating in initiatives in food security, education of children, women’s literacy, leadership development and capacity building for community leaders and their spouses, continued peace and reconciliation efforts in the aftermath of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis, and poverty reduction. Please take part by walking or donating!   Walkers will set personal kilometer goals for themselves over the summer and look for sponsors to support their efforts.

On August 26th, 2023, all available participants will walk the final leg of the walk-a-thon together, choosing to walk 2, 5 or 10 kilometers to Westview Baptist Church for a time of celebration.

Donors may choose to support the efforts of a specific walker, an assigned walker, or simply make a donation to the overall effort.

Please see the links on this page for details on walking, pledgeing, or to give.
