Hanneke Boersema

What I do here: I am the Children and Family Ministry Pastor at Westview. My focus is children (up to Grade 6) and anything parenting related. I am also the pastoral liaison for the Westview location of the Calgary Food Bank, and I represent Westview with the Ranchlands Community Network.

One thing most people don't know about me: My last name might give it away - I’m Dutch. However, I have lived less than half of my life in the Netherlands. I was born on a tropical island, and I love the beach and waves. I have lived in six different countries on four different continents (I was a “missionary kid”). I married a Canadian and that’s how I came to Canada approximately 10 years ago. 

A few of my favourite things are: I enjoy doing art projects or reading a good book. I really enjoy pastries, however, they would have to be gluten-free these days. Another one of my favourite things to do is traveling. I enjoy getting to know other countries, cultures, and food.
